Henrique Eduardo Alves began his parliamentary life at 21, representing the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. During more than 40 years of public life, Alves played a key role to Rio Grande do Norte and for the country, working towards achieving Democracy along with other important names of Brazilian politics, such as Tancredo Neves and Ulysses Guimarães. He was considered one of the most influential politicians in the national political scene and always showed leadership and articulation when working behind important projects and programs, like the “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” (My Home, My Life), which is responsible for a major social transformation in Brazil. He is currently the Minister of Tourism and works to strengthen the industry as an important vector for the economic development in Brazil.
